OLB Josh Allen signs 5-year extension with the Jaguars

According to ESPN, the five-year, $150 million contract includes $88 million guaranteed.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Jaguars' 2019 first-round pick, outside linebacker Josh Allen, will extend his stay on the First Coast as he signed a five-year extension.

According to ESPN, the five-year, $150 million contract includes $88 million guaranteed, making Allen the highest-paid player in the franchise's history and their first-ever $100 million player.

This payday comes after Allen recorded 17.5 sacks in 2023, breaking the franchise record for sacks in a single season, and earning his second Pro Bowl selection. Since joining the Jaguars, Allen has tallied 45 sacks, just 10 shy of the franchise career record held by former Jaguars pass rusher Tony Brackens.

The Jaguars had previously placed Allen on the franchise tag on March 4, but both sides reached an agreement well ahead of the mid-July deadline.

This signing marks only the third time the Jaguars have re-signed a first-round pick since 2008.
