NASSAU COUNTY, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Jaguars presented a check to the Board of Nassau County Commissioners Thursday to help improve the Yulee Sports Complex.
Representatives from the Jaguars offered the county a $100,000 check to help cover the costs of construction on a new football field and the refurbishment of an existing field at the complex.
The funds come from the NFL Grassroots Youth Football Fields grant program, according to the Jaguars. Nassau County provided a 2 to 1 match for a total of $300,000 for the project, said team officials.
The county's application for a Jaguars Grant was approved in May of last year.
Both events will take place at the Yulee Sports Complex.
