JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — On the eve of training camp for the Jacksonville Jaguars and after a very busy offseason consisting of locking up Trevor Lawrence long term and striking a stadium deal, the franchise on Thursday revealed their throwback 90s jerseys.
The team released the jerseys to commemorate its 30th anniversary season, as doors to the 'Pro Shop' at EverBank Stadium opened at 9:04 a.m.
First Coast News caught up with fans camped outside the shop hours before the vintage threads were unveiled, one in particular waited 24 hours.
"[I've] just been waiting so long for these to come back out, just seeing as we've gone through so many jersey changes since, you know, just had to make sure that I got mine just in time," said Steven, a Jags fan who waited outside the shop since 9 p.m. Wednesday.
The Jaguars said on X that it was an "eazy decision" to bring back the "prowler throwbacks." The team's star pass rusher Josh Hines-Allen called the uniforms fire on his X page.
"Checks the box, best in the league for sure," Jaguars safety Andre Cicso told First Coast News. "If you put 'em up against the other throwbacks especially, it's definitely the best in the league. I think it adds a different nuance to the game and different feeling, especially when your organization has a lot of history."
Cicso and the rest of the Jags will wear the throwback uniforms in their week five game on Oct. 6 against AFC South division rival Indianapolis Colts. Former head coach Tom Coughlin will be inducted into 'The Pride of the Jaguars' that day, too.
The shop at the stadium will remain open Thursday until 5 p.m., the team announced; parking is free in lot P.
