Jaguars get blown out by 49ers 34-3

The Jaguars said their five-game win streak isn't something to hang their hat on, as the team enters the second half of the regular season.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jaguars have nine more regular season games ahead of them.

As impressive as their record is now, the Jaguars are only looking ahead.

They said now is when things start heating up, so what went on the past doesn't matter from here on out.

While this isn't the most familiar territory for the organization, historically, they're not letting the second half of the regular season become too big of a moment.

They said their five-game win streak isn't something to hang your hat on.

Offensive Coordinator Press Taylor said he used the "bye" week to look at what went wrong and right over the past few weeks.

"The one thing that is good about it, good or bad, we've turned the ball over in scoring positions. So, we're not putting our defense in a hole with where we've given away the ball in most situations or some," said Taylor.

He's proud of the growth the Jaguars have shown on the field, week by week. Taylor knows the growth can't stop, despite succeeding weekly.

"We got to continue to get better, but we make no bones about it, we want to win games. If we can contribute to winning, we're proud of that fact but we need to play better as this thing continues to grow and in Week 10, we need to be better than we were in Week 8," he added.

Defensive Coordinator Mike Caldwell said the chemistry on the field is evolving and moving in the right direction.

"I think it's me just knowing the guys and understanding what they do well and what they like to do. Just trying to coordinate it all together so everybody is trying to be used to their strengths and putting them in position to makes plays which is the ultimate goal," said Caldwell.

Jaguars Quarterback Trevor Lawrence said it's easy to compare seasons when they're so different. As easy as it is to look at the growth of a team, it's just as easy to fall off the momentum train.

"Looking back, I think you can lean on some of those experiences from a year ago, but again, different team, different season, different set of circumstances this year, we're 6-2, not 3-7 at some of these points last year. If you want to be a good football team and consistently a good football team, you've got to maintain; you've got to sustain," said Lawrence.

The Jaguars are back at the back on November 12th against the San Francisco 49ers at 1 p.m.
