Jaguars make roster moves, sign two defensive players

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — On Tuesday, the Jacksonville Jaguars made four roster moves.

They signed two defensive players, Safety, Adrian Amos and Defensive Tackle, Jonathan Marshall.

Amos was drafted by Chicago in the fifth round, and 142nd overall of the 2015 Draft. He played in 142 games with 125 starts for Chicago from 2015 to 2018, Green Bay from 2019 to 2022, the New York Jets (11) and Houston (2023). 

His career totals include 650 tackles with 528 solo tackles, 49 passes defensed, 28 tackles for loss, 10 interceptions, nine quarterback hits, 6.0 sacks, six forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries. 

He also appeared in eight postseason games with six starts and recorded 29 tackles, 20 solo tackles, five passes defensed, three interceptions and one quarterback hit. 

Marshall was drafted by the New York Jets in the sixth round, 207th overall, of the 2021 Draft. He was in four games as a rookie and totaled two tackles and one quarterback hit. 

Marshall spent time on the practice squad with the Jets in 2022 and the Steelers in 2022-23. The native of Sheperd, Texas, played in 45 games in four seasons from 2017 to 2020 at the University of Arkansas. 

In addition to the signees, the Jaguars waived Defensive Tackle Adam Gotsis and Corner Back Gregory Junior was moved to the waived/injured list. The Jaguars said if Junior clears waivers, he will revert to the Jaguars’ injured reserve list.
