Jaguars fumble against Cleveland Browns losing 31-27

Lawrence threw three picks and the Jaguars couldn't complement each other on both sides of the line.

CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Jaguars couldn't capitalize on takeaways and lost their second game in two weeks to the Cleveland Browns, 27-31.

With Trevor Lawrence at the QB1 position, much is at stake. The Cleveland Browns capitalized on the Jaguars run game, forcing a stop beyond field goal range. In the Cleveland Browns' first drive of the game, they ball out. David Njoku picks up the first touchdown of the game all alone.

The Jaguars had a tough time picking up any momentum.

In the second, Lawrence threw a pick and the Jaguars defense allowed another Browns touchdown. David Njoku would pick up his second touchdown in two quarters. Cleveland leads, 14-0 in the second.

The Jaguars defense gets things rolling for the offense as Jacksonville native Darious Williams picks up a fumble caused by Andrew Wingard inside the Browns 20.

Evan Engram would seal the deal for the Jaguars and get the big cats on the board in the second quarter. This is Engram's second touchdown in two weeks. He picked up his first against the Bengals. The Jaguars cut the Browns lead in half, 14-7.

With less than two minutes left in the first half, Lawrence threw his second pick of the day. The pass was intended for Calvin Ridley who failed to look up as Lawrence released the ball. The Browns lead the Jaguars, 14-7 at the half.

The Browns start with a bang to start the third quarter and pick up another 7. The Browns strengthen their lead, 21-7.

To shorten that, Travis Etienne Jr. hits the Browns with a spin move and lands on the goal line. Head Coach Doug Pederson would choose to challenge the play. The challenge would go Jacksonville's way and Etienne's touchdown would stand. The Jaguars are on the Browns' toes at 21-14.

Lawrence would get picked off for the third time in the game. The Browns capitalize and score again, 28-14.

In the fourth quarter, Parker Washinton would pick up a touchdown pass from Lawrence and the Jaguars are back in this one. They're one touchdown behind the Browns, 21-28.

The Jaguars not able to maximize two takeaways from the Browns. Cleveland, however, was able to hit a field goal giving them a 10-point lead. 31-21, Browns on top.

At the two-minute warning, Jaguars have the ball.

Engram puts the Jaguars closer, with a touchdown, but there is very little time on the clock. The Browns lead, 31-27. The Jaguars attempted the two-point conversion but got eaten up by Myles Garrett.

 The Jaguars lose their second game in two weeks, 27-31.
