JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Jaguars teased on social media Tuesday that the long awaited reveal of their throwback jerseys will happen Thursday.
Fans have been clamoring for throwbacks for years. The cries have grown louder with every post this year teasing their return.
It appears Thursday is finally the day, as the team posted a short teaser with the text, "7.18.2024."
The Jaguars threads since abandoning their classic look have seemed to mirror the identity crises the team also faced on the field. The team has averaged just over five wins per season since Wayne Weaver introduced new jerseys in 2009, the most drastic alteration of the team's on-field look since its inaugural season in 1995.
So, it's no wonder fans have been yearning for a return to a design that's not only nostalgic, but may lend the superstitious a little peace of mind.
According to the Jaguars website, the team's pro shop at the Miller Electric Center will be open special hours Thursday and Friday.
Thursday: 9:04 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Friday: 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
