Both teams decided to bench their starting quarterbacks for the game following joint practices. Jaguars Head Coach, Doug Pederson said "Trevor, with getting all the reps here, he won't go. It’ll be Mac [QB Mac Jones] and C.J. [QB C.J. Beathard], they'll split half a piece". That being said, Mac Jones will get his first start as a Jaguar. In his first drive, Jones was sacked, through an incomplete intended for Elijah Cooks. The Buccaneers would force the takeaway.

Jaguars defense showed up big to start the game. Linebacker, Chad Muma was a nightmare for the Buccaneers offense after accounting for several solo tackles in the first quarter.

At the end of the first quarter, both teams were kept at zero.

With less than eight minutes left in the first half, Jones connects with wide receiver Parker Washington for the 25-yard pass in the endzone. The Jaguars took the lead, 7-0.

To respond, the Buccaneers get right back into it with quarterback, Kyle Trask's touchdown pass to wide receiver Cody Thompson. The game is tied, 7-7 with less than three minutes left in the half.

Cam Little, on his 21st birthday would put the Jaguars in the lead, 10-7 at the half.

C.J. Beathard started the start of the second half.

The Jaguars were forced to settle for the field goal. Cam Little would get the job done which would put the Jaguars in a better position at 13-7.

Beathard couldn't catch a break in the third quarter after getting sacked back-to-back to close out the quarter.

The Jaguars are still in the lead to kick off the fourth quarter, 13-7.

Beathard was taken out of the game with a groin injury. Mac Jones stepped back in.

Jones threw a 31-yard pass to wide receiver Brevin Easton for a touchdown, Jags lead 20-7.

With less than two minutes left in the game, the Buccaneers' John Wolfard was taken down hard and had to leave the field.

Final score: 20-7 Jaguars.
