JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A defensive starter for the Jacksonville Jaguars is set to miss at least four weeks, the team announced Thursday.

The team's top cornerback, Tyson Campbell, has landed on the injured reserve list, as he deals with a hamstring injury.

In response, the Jags have signed Tre Flowers, a former fifth-round pick drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the 2018 Draft.

Flowers appeared in 47 games for Seattle from 2018-2021 before being acquired via waivers by the Cincinnati Bengals in October 2021. Throughout his NFL career, Flowers has played in 90 games (44 starts), posting 208 total tackles, 22 passes defensed, five forced fumbles, five fumble recoveries and four interceptions. The Texas native played football collegiately for five seasons at Oklahoma State from 2013-2017. During his senior season, he was named First-Team All-Big 12 and voted as a captain by his teammates.

The Jaguars have also signed safety Andre Chachere, who was originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the Houston Texans in 2018. He spent his first three seasons on the practice squads of the Texans, Lions, Cardinals, Panthers and Colts before being claimed off waivers by the Philadelphia Eagles in 2021.

Last year, Chachere signed with Arizona and appeared in 17 games, recording 23 tackles and three passes defensed. The California native attended San Jose State and played four seasons from 2014-2017. In 2016, he recorded 117 interception return yards, becoming the first Spartan to record more than 100 interception return yards in a single season since 2012.

As for Campbell, the earliest he could return in the lineup for the Jags would be against the Chicago Bears on Oct. 13, per NFL rules.
