Evan Engram: 'We're moving different'

"From as far as the mental errors and the effort and the concentration has been through the roof. This early in camp, that's all you can ask for right now."

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — If there's one Jaguars player who thrived in 2023, it was tight-end Evan Engram.

Engram put up career numbers last season, and you have to believe he'll do the same in 2024.

Engram is in his eighth season with the NFL and third with the Jaguars. From year one to three Engram said, the energy he's feeling from his teammates now is unmatched.

"We're all moving different, and I think there's just a lot more sense of urgency, a lot more belief in what we can accomplish. We understand that the work needs to be put in to accomplish that. In the locker room, we're just moving different," Engram added.

Engram said from the veterans down to the rookies, everyone is locked in and they all have a chip on their shoulder.

"From as far as the mental errors and the effort and the concentration has been through the roof. This early in camp, that's all you can ask for right now," Engram said.

Engram mentioned that the leaders on the team, including himself, set the bar high during organized team activities. The person they have to beat is themselves.

"We would love to prove the haters and the doubters wrong, but we got a lot of work to do to prove ourselves right first. Then that will come naturally. We're not taking one day for granted, we're not taking one rep for granted. They understand what's at stake," he said.

He added that being surrounded by guys like Gabe Davis, Christian Kirk, and Brian Thomas Jr. helps him learn more every day.
