While NFL teams can't negotiate with external free agents until Monday at noon, fans and local businesses are trying recruit new talent to their cities in advance.
On Sunday, wide receiver Allen Robinson was offered free crab cakes for life if he signed with the Baltimore Ravens during free agency this week. Jimmy's Famous Seafood in Baltimore extended the offer on Twitter.
"Ok @Thee_AR15, here's the deal. Our beloved @Ravens...well... they kinda need receivers. They'll likely be calling you to offer you a job soon. When they do, please accept. If you say yes, we promise you free crab cakes for life. K thanks." - Jimmy's Famous Seafood
Robinson is recovering from ACL surgery after suffering a left knee injury during the first quarter of the Jaguars' Week 1 win over the Houston Texans last season. The 24-year-old is two seasons removed from making the Pro Bowl and posting 1,400 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns.
The Jaguars passed on placing the franchise tag on Robinson this past week. He can begin negotiating with other teams on Monday afternoon. He can officially sign with a new team on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
The Jaguars still have exclusive negotiating rights with Robinson until Monday evening.
UPDATE: Jacksonville-based restaurant Burrito Gallery has countered with an offer of its own for A-Rob.
