JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — After last week's loss to the Ravens, Jaguars Quarterback Trevor Lawrence self-reported a concussion and entered concussion protocol. He is also still nursing a sprained ankle, sustained two weeks ago.
As the Jaguars prepare for a vital game against the Buccaneers this weekend, vying for a second consecutive AFC South title and clinch a spot in the playoffs, here's what we know about Lawrence's injury.
The most recent development is that Lawrence practiced Friday. He and teammate Zay Jones, who is on the injury list with a knee and hamstring injury, were both listed as "limited."
Lawrence was listed in the team's injury report as "questionable" to play Sunday.
A video of Lawrence at practice was posted on the Jaguars' twitter in full gear, although notably not wearing the protective gear he typically wears for the knee he injured early in the season, and his sprained ankle. Head Coach Doug Pederson said that despite being spotted at practice, Lawrence is still "technically" in concussion protocol.

He says part of the protocol is to put Lawrence through "a practice and the stress and all that," to see how he handles it. "We'll give him as much as he can tolerate."
Pederson says that if Lawrence is not cleared on Saturday, he will not be traveling with the team to Tampa at all.
If Lawrence doesn't make it to the Christmas Eve game, backup QB CJ Beathard will step in. He spoke to the press earlier this week and said he is ready to go if he needs to. He has prepared for two other possible starts this year, after Lawrence's knee and ankle injuries.
Of the possibly of Beathard playing, Pederson said, "C.J. has been a pro. It’s what you expect from your backup. He’s no stranger to this situation this year and in his career, but he’s handled the week well.”
