Trevor Lawrence attends practice but does not partake due to his right shoulder sprain

Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence gave his presence at practice but did not partake as he is still dealing with a right shoulder sprain.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Jaguar's quarterback Trevor Lawrence is dealing with his fourth injury of the season, this time being a right shoulder sprain, which he suffered during the 3rd quarter in a loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Lawrence attended practice but did not partake, saying his shoulder is still sore.

In case Lawrence misses Week 17's matchup against the Carolina Panthers, the Jaguars ran reps with C.J. Beathard, E.J. Perry, and Matt Barkley.

Beathard fared well in the fourth quarter against the Buccaneers in Week 16, completing 11 of 15 passes for 94 yards and a touchdown. Beathard also saw action against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 13, as he completed 9 of 10 passes for 63 yards after Lawrence went down with an ankle injury.

If Lawrence were to miss his first-ever NFL game due to injury, he has faith in his backup to take the reins.

"I'm going to do everything I can to help the team, and if that's the case, to help C.J.. I got a ton of confidence in him and his ability to operate the system and the offense and to play well. We saw he did that on Sunday in the Bucs game when he had to come in, and he played well," said Lawrence. "At that point, it's not going to be about me; it's going to be about just whatever I can do to help the team win. And at that point, it's encouraging, leading, talking to guys, helping C.J. communicate whatever he needs to communicate."

Lawrence's status is still questionable for Week 17's showdown against the Carolina Panthers.
