JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence met with media on Wednesday ahead of the week 13 battle against the Houston Texans.
The division rival was just upset by the Tennessee Titans. That being said, the Jaguars have a small glimpse of light to look forward to.
The main question Jaguars fans have in mind: Will Trevor Lawrence play?
On Wednesday, both Lawrence and head coach Doug Pederson addressed these questions. As best as they could.
"I've definitely made some progress. I'm feeling better, been able to do a little bit more. It's taken longer than I wanted it to. Obviously, I want to be out there, and I want to be playing, and it honestly just sucks watching and then being there at the game, being on the sideline," said Lawrence.
Pederson sounded optimistic.
“It’s encouraging. We’ll get through today, obviously. I’m not going to commit but it was a good start to the week, so we’ll see how he handles much more of a workload today,” said Pederson.
Lawrence isn't rushing or forcing it.
"You don't want to push it too hard and set it back, but you also want to get yourself ready to play. So that's what we're doing today and tomorrow and just going to see how it responds and how I feel. I feel like we have a great plan and just take a day-by-day,” Lawrence added.
The Jaguars are set to host the Houston Texans on Sunday with kickoff at 1 p.m.
The Jaguars haven't beat the Texans in Jacksonville since 2017. A win would serve as a much-needed reset.
