Jaguars PREP hosting a full weekend of high school football activities

Jaguars hosted football athletes from all over the First Coast and Florida for events over three days.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — This weekend, Jaguars PREP hosted girls' flag football and tackle events at EverBank Stadium.

The eventful weekend began with two days of action for the Girls Flag Football Preseason Classic.

To round off the weekend, the Jaguars hosted three skills events.

The first one was the Girls Flag Football College Showcase, providing athletes with an opportunity to participate in a pro-style workout in front of NAIA and NJCAA coaches actively recruiting for college. The invite-only showcase featured more than 140 local high school athletes who ran through agility, position, and one-on-one drill challenges.

Immediately following the Girls Flag Football College Showcase, over two hundred high school quarterbacks, including multiple nationally ranked male college prospects, participated in the Quarterback Skills Challenge.

Remarkably, among the quarterbacks were 60 girls, marking a more than 200 percent increase in female participation compared to last year's event.

During the skills challenge, athletes engaged in a series of drills designed to enhance their quarterbacking abilities. Additionally, participants received in-class education through a provided Xs-and-Os curriculum, further enriching their understanding of the game.

Lastly, the day closed with the 7v7 Battle at the Bank, featuring the top 16 18-U boys' travel teams from Florida. Among those were three nationally ranked teams: the Miami Immortals, Burch Sports, and 24-K.

The Jaguars became the first NFL club to host this type of event.
