JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — In the midst of the final stretch of their regular season, the Jacksonville Icemen are not only focused on securing a playoff spot but also on brightening the days of young fans at Wolfson Children's Hospital. Despite their upcoming game against the Florida Everblades, the team took time to visit the hospital, emphasizing their support for the children during difficult times.
Charles Williams, the goalie coach of the Icemen, stressed the significance of such visits, highlighting the diverse range of emotions and reactions observed among the young fans. He emphasized the importance of spending even just a few minutes expressing gratitude and encouragement to the children for their resilience.
Williams stated, "Just the fact that I see all kinds of different facial expressions, reactions and it's really cool to see. It's just so important whether it's five minutes or ten minutes just to say 'thank you for fighting'".
The Icemen are set to hit the ice on Wednesday against rivals, the Florida Everblades. The puck drops at 7:30pm.
