JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Both the Edward Waters University women’s and men’s basketball teams were in action Monday night at home against SIAC opponent Benedict College.
In the first half of the doubleheader, the Lady Tigers won their game 71-60. Sha’Kawanza led all scorers with 16 points.
The Lady Tigers picked up their second straight win and improved to 8-14 overall and 6-9 in SIAC conference play. The Lady Tigers are back in action Monday, Feb. 12 as they’ll hit the road to face Clack Atlanta University.
The game is scheduled to tip off at 5:30 p.m.
On the men’s side, the Tigers picked up a big win over a Benedict team that entered the game having only lost two games all season. The Tigers had four players score double digits, with RJ Noord leading all scorers with 19 points in the 97-74 win.
EWU improved to 10-12 and 9-7 in the SIAC. The Tigers net game is Saturday, Feb. 10. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m.
