In his 13th season leading the University Christian Fighting Christians, Head Football Coach David Penland III is aiming to shift the team's momentum. Following a 5-6 record last season and an early exit from the playoffs at the hands of the Trinity Christian Conquerors, Penland decided to enact changes within the coaching staff.
The objective is to elevate the team's performance to meet the expectations of UC fans, who have grown accustomed to a high level of play. The last state title for the Fightin' Christians dates back to 2016, a significant gap for a program boasting nine state championships.
