DALLAS — The Jacksonville Jaguars kicked off their preseason schedule with a 28-23 win on the road against the Dallas Cowboys.
On the Jaguars opening drive, Trevor Lawrence threw an interception to Juanyeh Thomas.
However, the Jaguars defense did not allow the Cowboys to do anything on offense.
It was Jacksonville’s special teams that created a turnover and changed the momentum of the first half.
KaVontae Turpin fumbled the Logan Cooke punt, it was recovered by Gregory Junior.
Lawrence and the Jaguars offense took advantage of the turnover.
Lawrence found Christian Kirk for the first score of the game a 9 yard touchdown pass.
The Jaguars would go for the two point conversion and they converted as Lawrence hooked up with Zay Jones to make it 8-0 Jacksonville.
Lawrence finished the day 5/6, 36 yards, one touchdown and one interception.
C.J. Beathard was solid, 6/13, for 80 yards.
The Jaguars led the Cowboys 14-10 at halftime.
Jacksonville hits the road again next Saturday for a preseason game against the Detroit Lions.
