Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Detroit Lions: What you need to know

The Jacksonville Jaguars "dress rehearsal" will take place on Friday against the Detroit Lions at EverBank Field.

The Jacksonville Jaguars "dress rehearsal" will take place on Friday against the Detroit Lions at EverBank Field. The Jaguars starters will see most of the action as they take on Calvin Johnson (or not), Matt Stafford and company in Jacksonville. Quarterback Blake Bortles and the gang will look to fine tune their technique in their last chance for extended playing time before the regular season.

RIVALRY HISTORY

The Jacksonville Jaguars and Detroit Lions have met five times during the regular season. The Jaguars currently own the series lead with a 3-2 record. The last meeting between the two teams was on Nov. 4, 2012. The Lions defeated the Jaguars, 31-14 at EverBank Field. Then-Lions running back Mikel Leshoure scored three rushing touchdowns in the second quarter of the game. The teams also met in the preseason last year.
