H S Football, Sideline 2024: Nease Panthers ready to defend District Title

Coach Drafts said he hired a new defensive and he feels good about what they'll be able to do on that side of the ball.

ST JOHNS, Fla. — The high school football season in Florida kicks off Aug 23 and from now until then we’ll be previewing teams from around our First Coast.

We start the countdown to kick off with the Nease Panthers.

Collin Drafts Panthers won their first district championship in eight years in 2023 finishing with a record of 7-4.

The Panthers wrapped up their regular season on a three-game win streak before losing to Niceville in the region 1-4-s playoffs at home 55-21.

Coach Drafts said he's hired a new defensive and he feels good about what they'll be able to do on that side of the ball.

"We want to come in year out and compete for a championship," said Drafts. "We wanted to really put Nease back on the map and I feel like in the past five years, we've been able to do that".

Draft also added his program is right where he wants it.
