JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Bolles boys lacrosse team will make a trip to Naples for its fourth consecutive State Final Four appearance after defeating Oak Hall in the Regional Championship 9-8.
Bulldogs' attacker Jack Cox scored the game-winner moments into overtime.
"Trying not to have a heart attack and stroke at the same time," emphasized Bolles head coach Tom West. "I thought we had a chance to win it before overtime when we had the ball for the last two to three minutes. I'm just glad we had another shot in overtime."
"I just saw the matchup and I just said I got to take it. Coach Reed told me the move, and I did the exact thing and it worked. So shoutout to him," said Cox. "I got the ball and I saw an opening. I wasn't even thinking it was overtime. I just saw that I could score the ball, and that's what I did."
Bolles will look to capture the program's first State Title after falling in the Championship game last season to St. Andrews by one goal.
Bulldogs will face Bejamin in the State Semifinals on Thursday, May 9th.
