LAKELAND, Fla. — The Providence Stallions had a tough day in Lakeland, as both the girls' and boys' basketball teams fell in the 3A Final Four.
The girls lost 60-38 against Miami Country Day, the reigning state champions.
The boys lost a game they should have never lost, falling 39 to 38 against Windermere Prep.
The Stallions held a 38-33 lead with under a minute left in regulation. Providence also had possession and a two-point lead with under 15 seconds to play but turned the ball over.
In the final possession, Windermere Prep hit the game-winning and-one layup with one-tenth of a second left on the clock, defeating Providence in back-to-back seasons in the Final Four.
The Providence boys' team ends the season 24-6, while the girls finish 26-3.
