Bishop Kenny and Andrew Jackson into basketball state title game

Bishop Kenny girls' team will look to win their first state title since 1992, while the Andrew Jackson boys' team will aim for their first state title since 1993.

LAKELAND, Fla. — The Bishop Kenny girls' basketball team and Andrew Jackson boys' team advance to the 4A state title game in Lakeland, FL.

The Crusaders upset Sports Leadership and Management Miami 46-43, reaching the championship game for the fourth time in the last six years. Bishop Kenny showed resilience in their win, having previously lost by 17 points to SLAM Miami earlier in the season.

The Crusaders will aim to win their first state title since 1992 as they face the four-time consecutive champions Lake Highland Prep on March 2 at 12:30 p.m.

Andrew Jackson is also heading to their fourth title game in the last six years after defeating The Villages Charter 47-43.

Andrew Jackson will seek to win their first state title since 1993 as they take on Gibbs on March 2 at 3 p.m.
