Several First Coast natives represent in Florida-Georgia faceoff

Bulldogs Quarterback Carson Beck went to Mandarin High School and Gators Running Back Treyaun Webb went to Trinity Christian Academy in Jacksonville.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla — Jacksonville is no stranger to producing football players that go off and do great things.

For starters, Georgia's starting quarterback, Carson Beck, graduated from Mandarin High School. He is the first player from Jacksonville to start as a quarterback against the Gators for the Florida-Georgia game. 

Right now, Beck is leading the Bulldogs to a perfect season. The Bulldogs are #1 in the Southeastern Conference (SEC) East and have a 7-0 record.

In 2018, Beck led Mandarin to a state championship. 

Two Jacksonville brothers are also on Georgia's roster. Ali Hall is a redshirt freshman defensive back and Jordan Hall is a freshman defensive line for the Bulldogs. Both attended Westside High School. 

On the Florida Gators side, Treyaun Webb is also from Jacksonville. He's currently a freshman for the Gators and plays the running back position. Webb went to Trinity Christian Academy. Already, Webb has picked up two touchdowns for the Gators along with 146 yards with 22 carries this season.

Another Alumnus from Trinity Christian is redshirt sophomore offensive lineman, Austin Barber. Barber was a College Football News Freshman All-American First Team for the 2022-2023 season and has several academic honors.

From Riverside High School, suiting up for the Gators is defensive end Bryce Capers.

A sophomore out of Bolles High School, DE Jack Pyburn also suits up for the orange and blue. He's picked up 12 total tackles this season.

Roderick Kearney plays OL for the Gators. Kearney went to Orange Park High School.

Also playing for the Gators, redshirt sophomore wide receiver, Marcus Burke.

Freshman Cornerback Sharif Denson is from Bartram Trail High School in St. Johns County. He suits up for the Florida Gators.

Kingsley Eguakun is a redshirt freshman OL for the Florida Gators. He is an alumnus of Sandalwood High School.

Right down the road, Layne Swafford is from the Ponte Vedra High School. He's a freshman DE for the Gators.
