ATLANTA — A fourth-quarter comeback from the Florida A&M Rattlers leads them to a 30-26 victory over the Howard Bison in the 2023 Celebration Bowl.
With the victory, the Rattlers are now the HBCU National Champions, earning the title for the 16th overall time in school history.
Howard started off the game hot, scoring two touchdowns within four minutes of each other, taking a 14-0 lead in the first quarter.
FAMU trailed 16-10 entering the fourth quarter but scored back-to-back touchdowns within three minutes of each other, taking a 24-16 lead with under 11 minutes left in the game.
Bison would regain the lead after Christian Hinton scored on a pick-six, giving Howard a 26-24 lead.
But on the following drive, Rattlers quarterback Jeremy Moussa found wide receiver Jah'Marae Sheread on a 38-yard flea-flicker pass, giving the Rattlers a 30-26 lead.
FAMU would seal the deal by intercepting the Bison on their final two possessions of the game, claiming their first-ever Celebration Bowl Victory in their first-ever appearance.
