JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The 79th Annual TaxSlayer Gator Bowl will feature a battle between #22 Clemson Tigers and the Kentucky Wildcats on Dec. 29 at EverBank Stadium at noon.
The Tigers finished the regular season 8-4 with a 4-4 ACC record while earning the 22nd rank in the final CFP rankings.
The Wildcats finished the regular season 7-5 with a 3-5 SEC record.
This will be the 14th all-time meeting between these two teams, with Kentucky holding an 8-5 record over Clemson. The last meeting came on Dec. 27, 2009, where the Tigers won 21-13 to claim the Gaylord Hotels Music City Bowl.
Clemson has appeared in the Gator Bowl nine times, winning the matchup four times. The Tigers' last appearance came on Jan. 2009, where they lost to Nebraska 26-21.
Kentucky has played in the Gator Bowl twice, winning it once in their last appearance on Dec. 31, 2016, beating NC State 23-21.
