The Braves unveil a birds-eye view of their new stadium
The Atlanta Braves release fly-through renderings of SunTrust Park.

ATLANTA -- The Atlanta Braves have released a virtual birds-eye view of their new stadium.

Construction on SunTrust Park began in 2014 and the ballpark is expected to be completed by Opening Day 2017, according to the team's website. The Braves also plan to develop the remaining land surrounding the stadium to create an entertainment district featuring retail, restaurants and hotels.

The estimated cost of the stadium, parking and related infrastructure is roughly $672 million.

The Braves currently play at Turner Field, which opened in 1997. But the team's lease, which is owned by the City of Atlanta and the Atlanta-Fulton County Recreation Authority, ends in 2016.
