JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The battle of top-20 teams in the FHSAA rankings lived up to the hype as the Baldwin Indians took down the Episcopal Eagles 2-1 in extra innings to capture their third consecutive District Title.
The Eagles scored their first and only run of the game off a solo home run by Claire Cinnamond in the bottom of the 6th, taking a 1-0 lead.
But to begin the top of the 7th, Cali Hartung smashed a solo home run herself, tying up the game.
In extra innings, Amiyah Jones laid down a perfect bunt to bring in the game-winning run.
Regardless of the loss, Episcopal's Grace Jones surpassed 1,000 strikeouts, and rumors are she is just one hit away from reaching 200.
