Teen found guilty of killing mother won't be sentenced until he is 21

Mitchell Evan Daughtry, 17, will be held in a high-risk facility until March 8, 2021, when he is set to have a status hearing to be charged for second-degree murder in the death of his mother.

A 17-year-old boy, who was initially arrested when he was 14, will not be officially charged for the murder of his mother until he is 21 years old, according to court records.

Mitchell Evan Daughtry,17, will be held in a high-risk facility until March 8, 2021, when he is set to have a status hearing to be charged for second-degree murder in the death of his mother, Pamela Daughtry, 42.

Mitchell Daughtry was found in Sunny Isles in Miami-Dade County back in August 2015 after he was reported missing. He was located with a missing 2007 Volvo SUV by the Sunny Isles Police Department, according to The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

The teen went missing from a homicide scene in Jacksonville's Fort Caroline area after JSO was called to a home in the 11500 block of Monument Ridge Drive. At that home, police found his mother dead.

When the Sunny Isles Police Department found Mitchell Daughtry he was Baker Acted and underwent mental health evaluation at a facility in South Florida.
