GLYNN COUNTY, Fla. -- The Glynn County Sheriff's Office is warning residents about a scam involving an individual posing as law enforcement attempting to collect money.

A man claiming to be Lt. James Hall with the Judicial Court of Glynn County attempted to collect money from a female victim, according to a Facebook post from Glynn County Sheriff E. Neal Jump.

Sheriff Jump stated that the Glynn County Sheriff's Office does not accept payments over the phone or ask that money be placed on a prepaid debit card from a dollar store or Wal-Mart. "If you have a warrant, failure to pay or appear in court, you will be picked up by a deputy or instructed to contact the courts of Glynn County," Jump detailed.

Jump said if you received a call from someone claiming to be Lt. James Hall or with the Judicial Court of Glynn County or with the Glynn County Sheriff's Office and they are attempting to collect money, hang up and dial 911.

Anyone who has any information about the identity of this suspect is asked to contact the Glynn County Sheriff's Office at 912-554-7600 or contact the Glynn County Police Department at 912-554-7800.
