TYBEE ISLAND, Ga.- An alligator spotted in the water of the beaches at Tybee South End Beach has forced the closure of the beach, the City of Tybee Island posted to their Facebook page.
The 8-10' alligator was spotted in the water Friday morning.
Animal Control officers and a professional trapper are trying to capture the gator.
The beach is closed from the Parker Pier to the 'back river' as a precaution until the animal is caught.
