ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- A Gainesville man was arrested on three felony charges Saturday after he claimed to work for the Department of Homeland Security, according to the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office.

A staff member at the St. Johns Youth Academy reported to police that a former inmate at the facility visited the building and claimed to work for DHS, authorities said.

According to the staff member, Christopher Leon Levins, 18, drove a pickup truck with red and white emergency lights and sirens. Levins was also wearing a grey polo shirt with a Homeland Security emblem on the chest.

Levins had a Homeland Security badge and a holstered gun, according to a media release.

St. Augustine Police located Levins at a St. Augustine Beach restaurant and a computer check revealed that he was a convicted felon and was not employed by DHS.

Levins was charged with possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, possession of a counterfeit drivers' license and impersonating a law enforcement officer, according to deputies.

He was arrested a month ago on similar charge in Alachua County, according to SJCSO.

Levins was out on bond from his Alachua County charges. He was released from St. Johns County Jail after he posted $7,500 bond on Sunday evening.
