FAMU interim president calls for resignation of university's senior leadership team

A letter sent to senior leadership team members called for resignations by the end of the day Tuesday.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The Florida A&M University interim president has asked for the resignations of members of the university's leadership team by the end of the day Tuesday.

In a letter obtained by ABC 27, Interim President Dr. Timothy Beard cited consultation with the school's Board of Trustees, the past university president and his own observations in the decision to institute a "necessary" change in the leadership team.

Beard became interim president of the university at the end of July following a donation debacle surrounding former President Dr. Larry Robinson.

The letter, dated Monday, August 12, asks for the resignations by no later than the end of the day Tuesday.

"This decision was not made lightly and is rooted in a commitment to ensuring that our university is positioned for future success and growth," the letter reads.
