Fire crews are battling a 40-acre wildfire in Clay County late Wednesday afternoon.
The Florida Forest Service (FFS) said the fire is off of Highway 17 and Crowl Road S. of Green Cove Springs. It grew from 15-acres to 40-acres in about an hour when FFS first reported the fire.

A second fire is also burning in Clay County. FFS says it is about 15 acres large, just off of Pine Ridge Parkway in Middleburg. FFS says it's close to homes, but none of them are considered in danger. It is 75 percent contained.
