JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Florida Sen. Rick Scott arrived in Jacksonville early Tuesday morning as the polls opened for Election Day.
Democrat challenger Debbie Mucarsel-Powell is making her final push in Miami ahead of Tuesday’s watch party.
Former governor and current Senator Rick Scott stopped by Mambos Cuban Café on Beach Boulevard to share his reasons for running.
Scott made Jacksonville his first stop before heading to Orlando and Tampa ahead of his watch party Tuesday night.
Mucarsel-Powell was just in Jacksonville last week.
Both candidates are calling Duval County a swing county. Scott says Duval has played a critical role in each of his elections and urges people to cast their vote.
“Every poll in the 2010 General Elections said I would lose, every poll in the 2014 elections said I would lose, and every poll in the 2018 elections said that I was gonna lose. So don’t rely on the polls. Go make your voices heard,” Scott said.
