JACKSONVILLE, Fla — President Donald Trump's campaign announced he will be visiting Jacksonville next Thursday at 7 p.m. at Cecil Airport at 13365 Simpson Way.
The doors open for the event at 4 p.m.
Registration is available at the president's campaign website.
Jacksonville and Duval County was a solid-Republican area for decades in presidential elections, but in 2016, the county came close to flipping for Hillary Clinton. In 2018, Andrew Gillum won the county in his failed bid for the governorship.
The city was also the proposed site of the Republican National Convention until a July surge in COVID-19 cases led the president to change course.
So far, former Vice President Joe Biden has not scheduled any in-person events in Jacksonville, though his campaign has highlighted Jacksonville in virtual events, including a back-to-school roundtable his wife, Jill Biden, held with Duval leaders.
