BRUNSWICK, Ga. — Voters in Glynn County will decide on whether or not to pay increased taxes to support their local school district.
School board members say the district is in need of millions of dollars in order to construct new schools and improve existing infrastructure.
The ballot measure states that, if passed, the one percent sales tax increase would not last longer than 20 business quarters and could raise a maximum of $130 million.
Voters in the City of Brunswick will also have the choice to decide who will be their next commissioners.
Incumbent John faces Zack Lyde for the commission seat in Brunswick's north ward.
Commissioner Julie Martin from Brunswick's south ward is running against Linda Mincey and Valeria Scriven.
Registered voters can cast their ballot during early voting or on election day on November 3rd.
Residents with questions can reach the Glynn County Supervisor of Election Office at 912-554-7060.
