GEORGIA, — Georgia voters are heading to the polls on Tuesday to cast their ballots in the 2024 primary election. The May primary sets the stage for the November general election, narrowing down the field of qualified candidates so that only one candidate from each party is up for election.
Up for a vote are all of Georgia’s 14 Congressional seats, each of the 180 seats in the Georgia House, and the 56 seats in the Georgia Senate. Sheriffs, judges, district attorneys, and some county commissioner seats are also up for a vote.
Polls opened at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. if there are no issues.
If no clear winner is decided in a race on election day, the top two finishers will face off again in a runoff election slated for June 18.
