ATLANTA — Georgia voters headed to the polls on Tuesday to cast their ballots in Georgia's primary runoff election.
The June runoff follows the May primary election, where no candidate secured a majority vote in several key races.

11:18 p.m. | 11Alive's Angelina Salcedo spoke with incumbent Clayton County Sheriff Levon Allen after he won the runoff election. He said his goal for today was for his voters to come out to the polls despite low turnout.
His immediate next steps involve the jail, he said.
"The first thing I want to do is fix the locks in the jail. Repair the jail to how it needs to be. The second thing is to tackle overcrowding, and the third thing is going to be staffing," Allen stated.
11:00 p.m. | 11Alive's Cody Alcorn speaks with Lorraine Cochran-Johnson after she won the DeKalb County CEO primary runoff. Cochran-Johnson said she is the first African-American woman to serve as the county's CEO.

10:15 p.m. | Clayton County Sheriff Levon Allen said he's feeling good after Georgia's primary runoff win.
"I'm not surprised by the results. The county was very clear about what they wanted. And I'm here," he said.

8:26 p.m. | Gabriel Sterling with the Secretary of State's Office took to social media after polls closed, stating that it looks like there will be a total of more than 310,000 votes cast statewide. In a separate post, he said it was a smooth day of voting across the state. All polling locations opened on time, and no locations were open late.

12:00 p.m. | Around noon today, voter turnout in Clayton County appeared low overall, with voters trickling into polling locations off Morrow Road. Voters heading into Morrow City Hall shared that the race bringing them to the polls was the highly contentious sheriff’s race.
Incumbent Sheriff Levon Allen and Clayton County Commissioner Jeff Turner are competing to be the democratic candidate for sheriff in Clayton County in November.
“I think the sheriff's [race] is a very lightning bolt thing here in Clayton County, so I just wanted to be a part of the process,” said voter Jenice Whisenhont.
