The Jacksonville Housing Authority (JHA) appointed Vanessa Dunn as acting CEO after an "emergency board" meeting was held Friday, Feb. 2.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Vanessa Dunn, the CEO of the Jacksonville Housing Authority who was appointed in February, has resigned. Her resignation will be official in August 30.

The JHA Board of Commissioners met Thursday to discuss the issue. Not enough board members attended to vote for an interim CEO, but those who attended all agreed they would appoint former JHA chair Roslyn Mixon-Phillips. Phillips also worked with the city of Jacksonville as the chief community officer and director of recreation and community services for 27 years.

The board will meet again on August 16 for an "emergency meeting," to vote on Phillips role as CEO.

Dunn, who had been serving as JHA's Chief Operating Officer (COO) for nearly two years, replaced Dwayne Alexander when he resigned in February.
