JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A photo that appears to show a Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office community service officer asleep inside his patrol car is making the rounds on Facebook.

The photo was posted on Facebook Tuesday. It’s unclear exactly where and when it was taken.

A JSO representative told First Coast News that sleeping while on duty is prohibited and the incident is under administrative review. JSO said they could not comment further or release the CSO’s name while the investigation is active.

Community service officers are specially-trained civilians who perform mostly traffic-related duties, like crash investigations and assisting drivers. They receive training from the JSO Training Academy, followed by field training.

The JSO representative said CSO’s typically work 10-hour shifts.

According to JSO’s recruiting website, CSO’s make a salary $25,011 and receive a full benefits package.
