An industrial accident at the Winn-Dixie Distribution Center has left one person in serious condition after being trapped under a large load, according to the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department.
JFRD says that around 7 a.m. they responded to the incident. When they arrived, they pulled the patient out from under the load, and took them to the hospital with serious injuries.
S&S Wholesale Grocers issued this statement:
"There has been an incident in our Jacksonville, Florida facility. An employee was injured and taken to a local hospital. At C&S, our employees’ safety is our priority and we are investigating the cause of this incident. Our thoughts and prayers are with this employee and his family. "
A representative with Winn-Dixie says that none of their employees were injured in the incident.
S&S Wholesale Grocers employees also work inside the building.
