Number of Duval County polling locations reduced by 26; did your location change?

The number of polling locations has been reduced from 186 to 160 in Duval County, and voters are being urged to verify their designated polling places ahead of time.

Changes are coming to the voting process in Duval County this election season.

The number of polling locations has been reduced from 186 to 160, and voters are being urged to verify their designated polling places ahead of time.

Supervisor of elections Jerry Holland explains that the reduction follows a lawsuit requiring a more balanced allocation of polling locations.

"We've had to reassess and redistribute polling locations to ensure a fair distribution across the county," Holland explained. "This is all about making sure every voter has equitable access to the polls."

So, what goes into finding a new polling location?

Holland says parking, lighting and good accessibility. The elections office has worked diligently to ensure these changes lead to a better voting experience for all.

Holland says his team has been working around the clock to make sure that this transition is as smooth as possible for voters.
