Patriot Pack Riders make stop in Jacksonville

The organization is riding on motorcycles from New Jersey to Florida and raising money for veteran education charities.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A pitstop on a 1,500-mile motorcycle ride will lead to scholarship opportunities for veterans and children of military families.

The Patriot Pack Riders are a group of veterans and patriots who are riding their motorcycles from New Jersey all the way to the Navy SEAL Museum in Fort Pierce. Along the way they're collecting and raising money for military scholarship funds and on Thursday they stopped at First Citizens Bank in Jacksonville.

Mike Stramaglio founded Patriot Pack Ride and is proud to be on this 1,500-mile long mission.

"It’s about raising money for scholarships and accredited trade schools, and helping veterans and their families," said Stramaglio, "in a world that needs inspiration and hope, I hope we can inspire a few people and deliver some hope.”

“We employ a lot of veterans here, we purposefully go out and seek and recruit veterans, the impact that they make to our organization is amazing,” said Mike Jones of First Citizens Bank.

So far, the Patriot Pack Ride has raised $80,000 and hopes to reach their goal of $100,000 for military scholarships by the end of their ride.
