JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Happy birthday to the United States Marine Corps!
Earlier in the week the Marine Corps birthday was celebrated at the Duval County Courthouse by Judge Mose Floyd who was a Lieutenant Colonel in the Marines before becoming a Duval County Judge.
Floyd cut a cake to honor the 249th birthday of the Corps and presented a piece of cake to the oldest and youngest Marines in attendance.

The United States Marine Corps was formed during the Revolutionary War and founded on Nov. 10, 1775.
