Fla. Army recruiter charged with sex with minor

One U.S. Army recruiter is jailed on charges of having sex with a 17-year-old student
Christopher Doner, 30k, of Kissimmee.

OSCEOLA, Fla. -- One U.S. Army recruiter is jailed on charges of having sex with a 17-year-old student and another recruiter is being sought in the same case.

The investigation began in November when the victim's mother reported an unrelated incident, according to the Osceola County Sheriff's Office.

Days later, the mother again contacted the sheriff's office after learning her daughter was sexually active with the two recruiters, the sheriff's office said. The 17-year-old victim told detectives she met two Army recruiters -- identified as Christopher Doner and John Back -- while attending school at Harmony High School in St. Cloud.

Investigators say she was sexually active with both suspects at different times over several months, and Doner and Back both asked her to stop seeing the other person, but she did not.

In late November, Doner, 30, was questioned and told detectives he knew it was inappropriate and indicated he would end the relationship. Detectives tried to meet with Back, but learned he had returned to Michigan.

Doner was arrested on 10 counts of unlawful sex with certain minors and jailed. Investigators are working with law enforcement in Michigan to arrest Back, 33, for two counts of unlawful sex with certain minors.

Anyone with information about similar incidences is asked to call the sheriff's office at (407) 348-2222 or Crimeline at (800) 423-TIPS (8477). Calls made to Crimeline remain anonymous, and tips that lead to the felony arrest of suspects and/or the recovery of stolen property and drugs are eligible for cash rewards of up to $1,000 dollars.
