Capt. Michael P. Connor relinquished command of Naval Air Station Jacksonville on Thursday morning.
Leadership of the base was transferred to Executive Officer Capt. Brian D. Weiss during a change of command ceremony featuring guest speaker Rear Adm. Gary Mayes of the Navy Region Southeast.
NAS Jax says that the station’s 100 tenant commands including 15 squadrons, thousands of civilians and Sailors, along with their families, have benefitted due to Connor’s staunch leadership during major projects improving military readiness.
