This sea monster, which apparently was not Photoshopped, is a 297-pound warsaw grouper caught near an oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico. The guy who caught it, Cullen Greer, is a Houston native who made the catch off the coast of Venice, LA. He said it took him 30 minutes to haul the thing in.
From NOLA.com
The trophy grouper measured 6 feet, 6 inches in length and had a girth of 6 feet.If the catch is verified by the Louisiana Outdoor Writers Association, it will rank as the fifth-largest warsaw grouper ever brought to port in Louisiana.
That is an impressive catch for a fisherman who will surely have a story…Wait. Wait a second. THE FIFTH LARGEST? There have been FOUR LARGER warsaw groupers caught before in Louisiana?
This thing is the size of William "The Refrigerator" Perry and there are bigger ones out there?
Apparently they don't eat humans, but instead only feast on other fish, crustaceans, and octopus.
