Krispy Kreme, Wendy's and more announce Leap Day discounts

From discounted donuts to free guacamole. There's a number of deals available Thursday to celebrate 2024's extra day.

WASHINGTON — Leap Day for 2024 is coming up on Thursday, February 29, and some companies are celebrating the extra day by offering customers sweet freebies and deals. 

While there are specific giveaways for those "leaplings" who were born on a leap day, many places are also offering discounted or free food for everyone. 

Krispy Kreme leap day deal

Krispy Kreme is offering all guests a dozen Original Glazed doughnuts for just $2.29 with the purchase of any regularly priced dozen. 

Customers who have a Feb. 29 birthday can get a free Original Glazed dozen with no purchase necessary, but proof of birthday is required. 

Wendy's leap day breakfast deal

On Feb. 29, customers can get a free Cinnabon Pull-Apart at Wendy's locations during breakfast hours, while supplies last. While no purchase is necessary, the deal is limited to one per vehicle in the drive thru or in-store transaction. The offer is not available on third-party delivery platforms like DoorDash or UberEats. 

Build-A-Bear leap day birthday

Those with leap day birthdays can visit participating Build-A-Bear workshops on Feb. 29 to build a Birthday Treat Bear for just $4. The promo is an extension of the company's "Pay Your Age" deal, which lets guests take home a Birthday Treat Bear during their birthday month for the cost of the age they are turning. The company recommends calling your local story to confirm availability before visiting. 

Chipotle leap day free guac

Chipotle Rewards members can get free guacamole on Thursday by using the code EXTRA24 on digital orders placed on the Chipotle app or Chipotle.com.  

Duck donuts leap day deal

Duck Donuts is offering customers a cinnamon sugar donut and hot coffee or cold brew combo for $2.29 on Thursday, Feb. 29, 2024. 

Dunkin' leap day coffee deal

Dunkin' rewards members can order a medium cinnamon vanilla coffee for $2 when they order in the mobile app on Feb. 29. Members will also earn 4x points on all app orders on leap day. 

Milk Bar free leap day birthday cakes

Those born on a leap day can celebrate their once in every four years birthday with a free full-sized cake from Milk Bar. All leaplings have to do is head to any Milk Bar store location (excluding those inside Nordstrom department stores) on leap day and show a government ID to prove Feb. 29 is your birthday. 

Staples passport photo February 29

To celebrate the launch of its new loyalty program, Staples is offering 29,000 free passport photos via a coupon on its app. 

Starbucks leap year deal

Some Starbucks Rewards accounts are showing an offer for a buy-one-get-one-free handcrafted drink. Not everyone will get these offers, but those who do have until March 3, 2024, to redeem the coupon in the app. 

Great Wolf Lodge Leap Day 2024 deal

Great Wolf Lodge is once again offering a sale in honor of leap day. Bookings made on Thursday, Feb. 29, for stays between Feb. 29 and June 13 will start at just $29 per person with the code LEAP. It's only valid when you have at least three guests per room. 

The website also notes there's only a limited number of rooms available at the $29 rate and it "may not be valid during holiday and blackout periods or combined with any other discount or promotional offers. Discount may vary by date."

The offer isn't valid for Great Wolf Lodge Niagara Falls, ON, Great Wolf Lodge Naples, FL, and at Great Wolf Lodge Webster, TX.

Insomnia Cookies leap day birthday deal

Insomnia Cookies is offering a free 6-pack of cookies on Thursday to anyone with a Feb. 29 birthday.
